The counter probes 70 091 and 70 045 were developed to be able to provide efficient solutions to a great variety of measuring problems. Its field of application ranges from environmental monitoring to measuring functions in nuclear power stations. The tubes are fully enclosed in a robust and waterproof aluminium housing. Counter tube combinations can be selected for optimum adjustment to the measuring problem to be solved. The digital interface RS 485 or USB (alternatively) makes it possible to communicate directly with a PC or build up networks with addressable single probes.

DEVELPEMENT OF NOVEL PROBES FOR THE MEASURING OF PHOTON DOSE RATES UP TO 100 SV/H
Summary:
A dose rate probe consisting of two Halogen-quenched Geiger-Müller tubes has been designed for gamma radiation measurements at high-level radioactive samples. The detector provides dependable ambient dose-rate monitoring, covering nine dose-rate decades up to high values of 100 Sv/h. The dose-rate determination obtains serious benefit from a novel operation mode: The traditional counting is replaced by measuring the averaged time interval between the activation of the counter tube and the first detector strike. This approach is accomplished by a repetitive steering of the voltage up and down the operation point. The method is distinguished by an excellent linear detector response up to the highest dose-rates.

Introducing DRMoni: The Helpful Visualization Tool for Dose Rate Probes
DRMoni is an easy-to-use application program designed to complement the measuring systems for dose rate probes type 70 091 with energy-compensated Geiger-Müller counter tubes and type 70 045 with large-volume proportional counters. This software allows users to visualize measured values from dose rate probes, selectable via their addresses in the measurement network, and provides options for parameterizing these probes.
